Coronavirus: You and Your Eyes.

12/01/2020:  To streamline C-19 protocols, we are no longer requiring you to call ahead prior to your appointment.  Please enter with your mask.  We will have you take a brief screening questionnaire via your mobile phone or at the office with(out) the assistance of staff.  A temperature reading will also be taken.  We will continue to maintain the safest environment for our community.

05/05/2020:  We will open Monday, May 18th.  Also, we want you to be aware that all orders (eyeglasses and contact lenses) are taking an greater amount of time to ship, sometimes 2 weeks or more.  Unfortunately, the shipment delays are being experienced throughout the entire country. We urge you to follow the tracking that is provided by us and please thank your delivery person for continuing to work throughout this terrible time!

03/27/2020:  To contact us: please leave a voicemail or email as these will be checked twice daily.  In return, we will be using email to respond regarding your orders, new orders, etc.  We are open for business but in a slightly different manner for the few weeks.  Complying with the State's Declaration means we are unable to operate and staff the office as usual.

We are experiencing increased requests for contact lens orders.  All orders are processed the same day and include free shipping and tracking! Everyone is trying to do their part to keep the community going strong and we greatly appreciate your support!

We are offering VIRTUAL VISITS as of today for those that need it.  Anyone can schedule a telehealth exam, same day.

As of Tuesday Evening, March 18th, both the CDC and the American Optometric Association (AOA) have strongly recommended that all routine eyecare be deferred until further notice in order to slow the transmission of COVID-19 through our community.

Please be assured that we are still available to triage all urgent and emergent issues as well as help you with routine matters during this challenging time.  We have taken all the necessary steps to ensure that our patients, family, friends and most importantly, our community, remain in good health and spirits.

What does this mean?

  1. If you are scheduled for an eye examination, we will tentatively reschedule you starting March 31st.

  2. If you need to order glasses or contacts we most certainly can do so. Please contact us and we will assist you until we can have you return to our office safely.

  3. The office will be open for limited hours each day until further notice. This is for orders and pickups.  We ask that you call ahead with any pick ups and we are happy to deliver curbside.  Adjustments of glasses will need to wait for now.  We are also offering shipment of any product for your convenience.

  4. If you are running out of medication, please contact us.  and we will transmit electronically.

  5. If you have an emergent matter which cannot wait until our open hours, please contact us via email info@shelbyeyecare.com

  6.  We will be launching a telehealth platform in the upcoming days. For all Medicare patients it is a billable service and in most cases the copay can be waived.  For all others, we will offer this service for a nominal fee or you may check with your insurance provider regarding copays as telehealth opportunities are changing daily with insurance companies.

  7. We are working with EYEPRO and will be rolling out an ecommerce platform that will allow not only you but anyone the opportunity to shop for contacts, eyeglasses, online appointments or telehealth visits.

Please, if you are feeling ill, with a cough or shortness of breath or fever or sore throat, follow the CDC guidelines.  Or if you have questions about your symptoms, please call us asap.
